Jan Adam Zandleven (1868-1923) koos pas op latere leeftijd voor een bestaan als kunstschilder. Dankzij de steun van de invloedrijke kunstpedagoog H.P. Bremmer wist hij zich succesvol te ontwikkelen en kwam zijn werk terecht in diverse belangrijke collecties. Zandleven vervaardigde stillevens, landschappen en dorpsgezichten, maar vooral bosgezichten die en plein air tot stand kwamen rond zijn woonplaatsen Gorssel, Hengelo, Putten en Rhenen. Dutch text.
